The gap we close

Quality is built in,
not inspected in.

It is decided at alignment. The tolerance a drawing implies but never states. The finish described in words instead of a sample code. The substitution left to whoever buys the material. Those choices are made weeks before a machine runs.

An inspection catches a failure once it is already made. Quality has to be in the specification before anyone quotes it. Closing those decisions early is the work. It is the whole of stage one.

01

Align

Read the drawing the way the factory will. Mark every gap. Hand it back before a supplier ever sees it.

02

Execute

Contract the factory against that specification. Run samples until one is sealed. Stand on the floor for the first production run.

03

Validate

One of us checks finish, dimension, packing and papers against the sealed sample, not a photograph of it.

04

Deliver

Packed and labelled in the sequence the site needs. We check the document set before the container closes.

How each one runs
Align - watch it happen

A hotel wants new cladding. This is what a factory needs before it can quote.

Most enquiries reach us as description. Alignment turns what a client wrote into something a factory can price without asking. Here is one real enquiry, from the first email to the quotation.

01

What arrives

An email, a WhatsApp, a call summary. Clear enough between people. A factory would have to fill in the rest itself.

02

What is missing

We mark every line a supplier would have to guess at. Six of them here.

03

The aligned requirement

We close each gap with the client, then write it as specification a factory can price.

04

Ready to quote

Now every factory prices the same document. We keep the list of evidence each one still owes.

Client - hotel groupRe: lobby & corridor refurbishment

Hi - we’re refurbishing the lobby and corridors, around 900 m² of wall cladding. Something like the stone we saw in your samples, but lighter. It has to survive the housekeeping trolleys. We reopen in October.

  • 1The area is an estimate. Elevations and a panel schedule fix it.
  • 2“Like the stone” has to become a sample code.
  • 3“Lighter” - in colour, or in weight? Two different products.
  • 4Housekeeping trolleys mean an impact rating has to be named.
  • 5A hotel corridor needs a fire class. That one is mandatory.
  • 6October is fixed. The float and the fixing method are open.
